Doing visuals for The 2019 Adult Swim Festival holds a special place in my body of work because it was the first time Dethklok had played in seven years, I got to work with Brendon for a second time after Galaktikon: Nightmare, and Dethklok’s performance that night seemed to galvanize a brutal momentum that eventually culminated four years later in the production of Dethalbum IV and a concluding film a lot of folks including myself worked dang hard on, Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar. That festival night, seeing new visual work I did for ‘Comet Song’ and ‘Impeach God’ played live in tandem with a killer set from the band, as well as some new great and psychedelic Facebones interstitials, then finally hearing the crowd chant ‘Season five’ at the end of it all … it was beyond incredible. Glad to be a gear!
